Having trouble finding post baby jeans? Yeah, me too. Until I found these! I have had a few of you ask me what kind of jeans I wear, where I get them, etc. So I decided it was about time to share my best kept secret with you all!
(Disclaimer: this is a bit of a hard post for me to write: I appreciate no attention to my rear or stomach, BUT these pants have literally revolutionized my life and I want them to change yours, too!)
Let’s back track a bit. After having my first baby, I was (comfortably) back in my pre-pregnancy jeans in about 2 weeks. It was magical and I (ignorantly) assumed it would be the same way with baby #2. Whoops, big mistake! Although I was able to get into my jeans, I had a new set of muffin tops and a pooch in front that I’ve had the hardest time getting rid of! My old jeans fit, but it wasn’t pretty.
Now I know first hand that getting my body back after having kids is NOT everything in this life. However, being comfortable in my own skin no matter what stage of life I’m in IS a big deal for me. And one thing that makes me comfortable is having jeans that I love and feel beautiful and comfortable in. Any three of these jeans can be for any mom. Maybe you just had a baby and most everything is still jiggling around, perhaps you are still breastfeeding and can’t quite get to a place where you are back in your old jeans yet, or maybe you are like me, actively working towards better health and fitness, but your body just isn’t quite there yet. In all of these scenarios or any others in between, these jeans are for you! They all move and form to your body, so even if it’s changing they still fit and are flattering. So today I wanted to share with you my three favorite pairs of jeans for my post baby body.
Pair #1 KUT Jeans
These jeans are 2% spandex and have just the right amount of give in the waist. The leg is a straight cut, they hit me right about mid-hip and they are a beautiful dark denim with some distress to them. I love that I can dress these up with a cute top or throw on a t-shirt and go to Wal-Mart. They run one size smaller than what I normally wear. I’m normally a size 6, so I got a size 4 and they fit like a glove. I wore these this year for family pictures and they gave me the relaxed, yet cute look I was going for.
Pair #2 Tribal Jeans
These are my new favorites. They are a lighter color with a bit looser fit than the first pair. These jeans look best with tennis shoes, but can still be dressed up with boots or the right pair of flats. These also run a size smaller than normal.
But here is the BEST thing about these jeans. They have a fitted panel at the top. No buttons, no zippers….just a great way to hold it all together. The real deal breaker for me with these jeans is this: there is ZERO room for my crack to hang out. Seriously, I can roll around on the floor with my kids, scrub my floors, bend over, take out the trash and nothing is hanging out in the back. For me, it’s the greatest miracle since sliced bread.
Pair #3 Lola Jeans, Anna KMB regular rise cut
These are my “dress jeans.” I have the exact same pair in two shades: one is a true blue denim, the other is a darker denim. The ones pictured here are the true blue denim. I LOVE everything about these jeans. I have worn them consistently for over a year, they have been through more washes than I can count and they have held up beautifully! These also run a size smaller than normal.
These jeans also have the panel. This has allowed me to wear so many more fitted tops than I would have if I would have simply worn my pre-pregnancy jeans. These have been the biggest lifesaver for me.
All three of these pairs of jeans can be purchased at Zuzu’s Petal’s Boutique in either of their Kansas City locations (135th and Quivira and Threshing Bee in Prairie Fire). If you don’t live in KC, they have FREE SHIPPING all year round.
As a mom, even if I’m just doing things around the house during the day, I love to feel comfortable and beautiful. And these jeans have seriously given me the confidence I need to get back out after having babies and feel that way. I hope you all stop by Zuzu’s or give them a call and order yourself a pair or two.
