Princess Nora’s Birthday Party

in Uncategorized on September 15, 2013

Like I said before, I was way behind on blogging last week, but it was for an excellent reason! Our baby girl turned ONE on Friday! I have been planning her birthday party since the day she was born (no seriously, I have been) and have been crafting in my spare time the last month or two to get ready for this special day. I decided to go with a Vintage Cinderella theme that I had found on Pinterest. I ended up adding a few touches of my own to make it have more of an enchanted forest theme. I won’t lie…it was the most perfect party ever. And I had so much fun planning it! So with out further a due, Nora’s Vintage Princess Party in the Enchanted Forest…

I decided to do lots of delicate little sweets and goodies for the party:
pink princess juice, smashed pumpkin-carriage pudding, princess dress cupcakes, the Fairy Godmother’s magical wands, Jaques and Gus’ little mouse treats and Cinderella’s buttons for her dress at the ball

Another shot of the table

Nora’s dress for the ball! Complete with cowboy boots and her own princess wand 🙂

Our dear family friend, Carol, made the princess dress cupcakes for us. I thought they tied everything together perfectly. Aren’t they absolutely adorable?!?

Who knew that the Fairy Godmother’s wand was edible?

Pink-white chocolate covered Oreos to complete Cinderella’s dress for the ball!

The mantel. This was one of my favorite parts of the party 🙂
The banner read “Princess Nora”

A castle, a crown and balloons. What more does a princess need?

So there you have it! Nora’s first birthday party! I can honestly say that it was a joy having 25 of our closest friends and family over to celebrate the life of our precious, spunky little gal. AND if you can believe it, I did the whole party for UNDER $60!! Mommy score! We took pictures of each individual family with Nora, but I’m kicking myself for not getting a group shot! Oh well, you live and you learn. Can you tell that Nora wasn’t smiling in a single picture? Well, that’s because she was sick 🙁 And by sick, I mean constipated…and by constipated I mean she was impacted…and by impacted I mean we had to “help” her go potty right after the party was done. It was an awful 30 minutes of hysterical screaming and crying, but luckily the majority of the hysteria was after the party was done and most of the guests had left. She was a “party pooper” in every sense of the word. Poor thing, and on her birthday, too.
I hope you enjoyed some of the snap shots of our special day. Already looking forward to planning next years bash :)
