I have had the itch to cut my hair back shorter for a while. And not just shorter, like cutting 11.5 inches off like I did a few months ago. Like going back to the “I can’t put it into a pony tail” kind of short. I didn’t want to cut it as short as I did years ago when it was all spiky and shaved in the back, but I wanted a sweet little bob cut. I have been going to my hair dresser, Leslie Jo, since my freshmen year in college. I LOVE her. She knows my hair like the back of her hand, always gives me exactly what I want and ALWAYS greets me at the desk with a Coke and a new O.P.I. color to try on my nails. I have the feeling that I might keep coming back to Olathe for my hair cuts and highlights long after we move to Nebraska. She is just that good. She asked me (multiple times) if I was sure that I really wanted to go super short again, and (multiple times) I said I was ready to take the plunge. The reason that she asked me so many times is that the last time I cut my hair this drastically, I cried for 2 weeks. Talk about shock and awe. But alas, no tears this time around!!
Another Cut Above
I absolutely love how it turned out, but now I will have to spend the next couple of weeks figuring out how to style it. You never can get it to look as good as the stylist does, darn it!
Sadly, my poor Grandma (my mom’s mom) is in the hospital again with sepsis. She has had multiple infections from her right leg wound over the years, but has only had sepsis once before. It’s definitely not fun watching family members suffer, especially after years and years of the history repeating itself. We are praying for quick healing this time around! So after my hair cut today we got to spend the rest of the day at the hospital. Lucky for us, Uncle Fred and Aunt Cynthia were there to help keep Nora company, along with Grammie, Grandpa, Uncle Jared and our sweet friend, Cindy Bentele.
Even at the hospital, we have to look our finest.
First McDonald’s date with Grammie. I am sure this will be the first of many.
We got VERY exciting news that Grandma and Grandpa from Nebraska are going to come and visit this weekend! They haven’t seen Nora since New Years, so it will be great time of catching up and seeing how much she has grown/changed. I can hardly wait for them to come!
