Day 7 Canada – The Final Hurrah!

in Uncategorized on August 22, 2013

Saturday was our last day in B.C., so we definitely went out with a bang!! Another Janzen family tradition is diving into Vancouver, renting bikes and riding around the sea wall, then finishing off the night with dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory. This was another huge highlight of the trip for me. The weather was absolutely perfect for our bike ride!

My cute mama all ready to ride!

Nora wasn’t too sure about her bike seat at first

Awesome helmets

The start of our ride in the bay

Once we got going, Nora LOVED the bike ride! And I am proud to say that she didn’t try and take her helmet off one time. Good girl 🙂

Eric and Johhny

I have always loved this little mermaid. It just makes me happy whenever we bike past it 🙂 I fondly remember stopping to see it as a little girl

Not big on the selfies, but when wearing a helmet….

Returning our bikes at Spokes – the same place we have rented bikes for 20 years

Both of them had some awesome helmet hair going on

This cool clock in Gastown is completely powered by steam. It blows off steam and plays music every hour. So fun and unique!

Being the BIGGEST Olympic fans ever, we had to find the torch from the games a couple of summers ago. It was much bigger than I thought it was going to be and so neat to see it in person

Me and my wonderful Olympic loving Mom. Buddies for life!

Ready to eat some Italian food!

My great big wonderful family!

They always serve coffee and ice cream as a part of your meal at T.O.S.F. Definitely the perfect way to end our day!

We truly had a wonderful trip back home to Canada. I am so thankful for my parents bringing us along to celebrate THIER anniversary. That is what I love about my folks – they always love doing things together as a family and go out of their way to make trips so special for us. And it made it even more special to have my husband and baby there with me for the first time. My Auntie and Uncle were fabulous hosts and had everything prepared so beautifully and thought out with so much intention and love. Although we don’t see that side of the family as much as we would like, it always amazes me that we can just pick up right where we left off the last time and not miss a beat. What a joy that family is. God has been incredibly faithful to ours, and I think that a large part of that is the example that my parents have set for us to follow after – not just in their marriage, but in the way they do everyday life. They do all of it with every ounce in them to honor the Lord and love others. And I’m so thankful for their influence on my life.

Watching the planes take off on our way home

Goodbye to the beautiful Northwest!
