Nora Goes to the Zoo

in Uncategorized on August 29, 2013

I have been wanting to take Nora to the Kansas City Zoo all summer, but I wasn’t sure if she would really enjoy it or not. But I am so glad that I waited because I feel like she is finally to the age where she can really get up close to the animals and watch them. Nora, my mom and I all loaded up in the hooptie-van on Tuesday, stopped by QT for some drinks and drove up to the zoo. We had a blast!!

Highlight (for me at least!) was the elephants. They were so big and beautiful!

Me and my hot, sweaty girl

Grandma pushing Nora while she sang down the road

Entranced by Nikita, the polar bear

Grandma liked it as much as she did, I think πŸ™‚

Of course, whenever you see a cut out face board, you MUST subject your child to ridiculous pictures. You must.

Smiling at the monkeys. She couldn’t get enough of them!

Seriously, there is nothing like being a Mommy to this girl!

When at the zoo, you wear elephant ears…

“Mike! Mike! Mike! Mike! Mike! It’s hump day!!”

Getting cooled off in the mister. I swear those things saved our day!

Nora and the snake tongue

Nora when she saw the lions. Can you tell she liked them? She kept growling at them and pounding at the window. It was the CUTEST thing!

Trying to get a picture with Mommy. She obviously wasn’t interested.

So glad that we got to spend our (very hot) day at the KC Zoo! And so thankful that my mom took her own day off to spend the day with us. We finished the day at Jose Peppers (while sticking to my diet plan!) and a visit to see my baby brother at the Apple Store. Can’t wait to go back and visit the zoo again with my little animal lover πŸ™‚
