I love everything about Spring… The bright greens, the plants popping up through the dirt and the smell of cool rain. And with it comes the promise of a new life and new opportunities. The chance to take a breath of fresh air and see life a little more clearly.
And I love what Springtime does to our home, too. Beautiful lush greens against rustic farmhouse whites, sunshine pouring through our windows onto my two little cherub faces and the hum of tractors planting our rows of beans and corn. Yes, it really is such a gorgeous, special time of the year.
Here’s a little snip-it of our farmhouse in the springtime. It’s simple, yet full of rustic goodness. So out with the cold and let’s skip into Spring!
If you have white cabinets and want to bring Spring into your home, green ferns are the perfect way to welcome warmer weather to your home and your kitchen.
I love how Bernice looks with her pretty fern wreath.
This year I decided to switch things up a bit and add something that is a little bit different for me, but such a true sign of Spring. These geese were the perfect way to say a good old “farmhouse welcome!”
Between the bonnet, the flour sifter and that gorgeous scale, I’m not sure what to do with myself. It’s country overload. And I love it.
My kitchen table found a little birdie love this year. I love adding moss to simple pieces to add depth and texture to my Spring lineup. This bird bath was just itching for a good Spring sprucing!
One of my favorite parts of Spring is that it is home to one of my favorite holidays, Easter.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Easter falls in Spring; new life for the living earth, new life through the Living God. There is nothing greater than the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. There is nothing that is able to give more meaning to our lives… or deaths. It is the reason for the joy I have in my heart and the purpose of my soul.
One of my favorite parts of our home is my china hutch. Not only does it hold all of my finest dishware and cutlery, but it’s truly a beautiful piece of furniture. One of my dearest and fondest patients and friend willed this to me when she passed a way. It holds such a sweet place in my heart.
I love how the pastel eggs pop off of the brown of the hutch. And those bunnies… could they be any cuter?
I found this sweet little goose at an unbelievable antique store in the West Bottoms down in Kansas City over the winter. There were three others there, it was so hard to choose. I would have purchased the whole gaggle of them if my husband hadn’t been there with me.
But he was, so I was limited to one.
Womp. Womp.
One of my favorite spring flowers are tulips. And wouldn’t you believe it, these AREN’T real! They have the texture, look and the scent of real tulips. I almost fell over when my mom brought me these a couple of weeks ago. I have to admit…I’m totally obsessed with them.
And they match my little duckies perfectly. So it was a natural win 🙂
We finally brought up our coffee table a couple of months ago, and it’s been so nice having it in our living room. I wanted to give it a little bit of Springtime love, too, and this tray seemed like the perfect transitional piece for it.
I couldn’t forget the back hallway. A “Happy Easter” banner and more garden greens make it a beautiful place to come home to.
I hope you’ve enjoyed a peek into the farmhouse this Spring and my wish is that you’ve seen something that makes you want to bring joy into your home that breaths some new life into it and welcome the season of new life.
