So here I am into my second week of my healthy lifestyle changes, and things have been going great!! Some days have been harder than others, but overall I feel like I am making some good improvements and starting to feel a little bit different. So here we go!
5K Training-This has really been going excellent this week. I am up to running 8 minutes at a time x4 rounds, and it is equaling about 2.5 miles and 32 minutes total running. Whenever I add time to my routine, I definitely feel it, but the next time I run with the extra minutes, I don’t seem to struggle, so I know my endurance is building up, which is really exciting for me. Nora continues to enjoy the runs as well, although the longer we run, the more Cheerios she consumes 🙂 The only hard part this week is that we have been in the upper 90’s with extreme humidity. Even running first thing in the morning has been pretty hot, but fall is right around the corner, and with that, hopefully cooler temps!
Eating-I did pretty well this week with my portion control and clean eating. I went out twice with my mom for lunch, and one of those times was my “skip meal” at Chilis and Nora and I split the Quesadilla Explosion Salad. I have a hard time saying no to it 🙂
Weight-I was pretty excited to step onto the scale today and see that I was down 2 pounds since last week! Yippee!! My goal for this week is to at least maintain that weight loss or maybe lose an extra 1/2 pound. But again, as I continue to keep up with these lifestyle changes, the weight will eventually come off if I stick to it.
Water-The water thing has been much easier than anticipated. Except yesterday…yesterday was an all out cry fest for Nora, so I found myself trying to catch up on water at the end of the day. I guess we all have off days, don’t we?
Recipes-I tried a new dinner recipe this week with hamburger. I know that hamburger is not as healthy as turkey meat, but I am going with what we have in the house. I did this hamburger helper knock-off recipe. It only had 6 ingredients and took no time at all to cook, but boy was it bland! We ended up adding some parmesan cheese on top and it made all the difference in the world. Sad to say, but I don’t think that we will be making this one again 🙁 For a new snack this week, I made peanut butter and banana mini freezer bites. Super simple…cut up your banana, stick a little peanut butter in between two slices and pop them in the freezer. They were SO YUMMY! I’m thinking about maybe trying them with some almond butter next. Tonight we are trying a new salmon recipe, so I’ll let you know how that turns out next week.
Here is to another week of making good, healthy choices for me and my family. Yay!

Awesome! Way to stick to it, even with the super hot weather!!
