How Many Weeks Along? 18 Weeks

Size of Baby: A sweet potato

Gender: May 14th is the big day, but my BFF Kati texted me tonight and told me that she had a dream it was a boy and that he had super blonde hair. Time will tell 🙂

Weight Gain: Up another glorious pound. Up 4 pounds total.

Maternity Clothes: I bought a new long dress this past week at The Buckle (note, I NEVER shop there, I randomly walked in looking at purses) and am so excited to wear it out to dinner for my birthday Friday night. It looks great with my little bump! I also am, ahem, up a whole cup size so I went and did a little undergarment shopping this past week. I’ve never been so thankful for new bras.

Movement: SO MUCH! And the coolest thing was that Eric already got to feel the baby kicking a couple of nights ago. He didn’t get to feel Nora until about 22 weeks, so feeling it before 18 weeks was so exciting for us both. I can feel this little one kicking all over the place most of the time now. I love it.

Symptoms: Actually had quite a bit of nausea and vomiting today. I think this baby must have been going through a growth spurt today – woke up with horrific acne (awesome), N/V and it hurt too bad to wear a bra today. Yep, I didn’t wear on all day long. Thank goodness for thick hoodies! Other than that, feeling great! Feeling the urge to visit the little ladies room quite often and feeling super hungry all the time are new for me this week. Really loving this second trimester overall.

Sleep: Sleeping good. Having to get up a use the bathroom once during the middle of the night, which was new this week. But still sleeping great.

Cravings: Food in general. Haha! Chipotle’ has been starting to call my name again. Too bad it’s 30 minutes away….

Best Moment of the Week: Eric feeling the baby kick was the best thing this week. I have been trying to get him to feel it for a couple of weeks now, and he just hasn’t been able to. So when he finally did, I was ecstatic!

Looking Forward To: My birthday is Friday and there are two scenarios. 1.) Eric can’t get into the field to plant because of rain so we go to the Omaha Zoo for the day, then out for dinner just the two of us that night, or 2.) Eric plants all day and we go on a late night sushi date into Lincoln after he is done working. Either way it’s going to be a super fun day and I can’t wait to wear my new dress! Excited for another week of being blessed in carrying this sweet little baby!
