5 on Friday

in Uncategorized on August 23, 2013

The first week back after a week long vacation can seem like an eternity. So this Friday is quite welcome on this here little blog. As great as vacation is, it’s always so nice to be back home, right? So here is the fun that has been going on in our house this week.

1. A few snip-its of vacation

We went home to British Columbia, Canada to visit my family last week and had a blast! Here are a few of my favorite pics from the week

2. I’ve decided I’m the luckiest person ever

I was at the local supermarket picking up some diaper rash cream for Nora and ran into my favorite barista from Starbucks, Akara. I told her how excited I was for them to come back out with their PSLs and she did the most unbelievable thing…she made me the exact equivalent of a PSL! It’s called the white chocolate pumpkin and I couldn’t even tell that it wasn’t a true PSL. The good news? It’s available all year round folks. So go and get yourself one!! And as you can see, Nora was obviously as excited about it as I was 🙂

3. Standing and Walking

So I blinked and Nora woke up standing up all by herself and is starting to take steps. For the time being, she holds onto her shopping cart and John Deere tractor and literally runs around the house, but she is making so much progress with her leg coordination. And she is officially in TODDLER clothes! Holy smokes!

4. House work post

So I posted this yesterday and have gotten some good responses on the blog and my Facebook. This post is a snap shot of a typical day/week in our home and how I have found a way to keep up with all of the house work and it has given me immeasurably more time to spend with my family. I hope this can encourage some other gals out there!

5.  5K Training

So in an attempt to make some healthy changes in my life, one of the things that I’ve decided to do is to train for a 5K that is in October. Training started this week, and I’ve already seen some progress being made. The 5K I am doing is the Jared Coones Pumpkin Run, in honor of a sweet family friend who lost, not only their son Jared, but also their dear Mom Jayne, to cancer. This is an excellent cause to be a part of, and I have walked this numerous times in the past, but am actually running it this year with Nora. You can read more about the new changes I am trying to make in my life
here. This is Nora at the race last year when we walked it together as a family. I think she will enjoy it a little more this year 🙂

So there you have it folks. Happy Friday to all! We are headed out to the Farmer’s Market in the morning for the last time, because we all know what starts next Saturday, right?? COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAMEDAY!!!

    Day = Made.

    How have I hone so many years without hearing about a white chocolate pumpkin? Apparently, I need my own version of Akara at my Starbucks here in MN. I may or may not be heading there tomorrow bright and early.

    I am totally down with fall smells/decor/beverages year round.

      So I've decided that if we lived in the same town we would have play dates while sipping on our fake PSLs 😉
