Andersyn – 2 Months

in Uncategorized on November 23, 2014

Andersyn Joy – 2 Months

Weight: TBD at her appointment Monday. Maybe a little over 11 pounds?

Length: TBD at her appointment Monday

Clothing: All 0-3 month clothing. But I have the feeling that she will be moving up to some 3-6 month clothes soon. Size 1 diapers

Head Circumference: TBD at her appointment Monday

Feeding: Little Miss Thing loves to nurse still, and she is a fast eater! She normally eats about every 2-3 hours during the day and takes a bottle a few times a week when I am gone. I feel so fortunate that we still have not had to use any formula yet!

Schedule: Andersyn is normally up for the day at about 8AM and we try and go about the day on an eat, play, sleep schedule. She gets up and eats then is up for about 2 hours in the morning, then eats again at 10, is up for about another 45 minutes, then naps for a little over an hour. Eats around noon, is awake for another hour, then takes a longer nap in the afternoon, about 2 hours. Eats again around 3, is up for another hour, sleeps an additional hour. Then is up again to eat at 5, then cluster feeds in the evenings about every hour and a half-two hours until her last feeding at 9:30pm. She is awake anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour after that, then goes down until about 3AM, when we get up, feed/diaper change, then she is down again for another 2-3 hours, feeds again, then sleeps until she wakes at 8AM. Whew! What a day!

And of course today, she has eaten every 2 hours and slept the entire rest of the day. Growth spurt, maybe?

Likes: She loves being held, having her bum patted and walking around so that she can see everything that’s going on. We have recently started letting her spend some time in the Bjorn while I get things done around the house and she LOVES it! Her pacifier is her BFF and we always make sure to have a spare on hand. Andersyn has really started to love being around her big sister. She smiles at her more than anyone and loves watching her play. Bath time is a favorite activity, as well as playing on her activity mat. We spent many days in the combine and grain cart and the loud roar of the engines lulled her right to sleep. Oh, and she loves eating 🙂

Dislikes: She doesn’t seem too fond of her car seat, but it seems to be getting better. She also doesn’t like to wait to eat (at all) and let’s us know pretty quickly when she is hungry. It’s been pretty cold here lately and Andi is not a fan of the cold and wind, yet screams her head off when we cover her head when we are outside. It’s kind of a lose-lose for her, but she will learn.

Milestones: Guys, we have a HUGE smiler on our hands! Our girl is SO reactive to certain people when you get up close to her. She is cooing all the time, but no giggles yet. She tries so hard to roll over, but hasn’t done it anymore. She enjoys tummy time and is a total pro at lifting up her head. She is starting to grab at things – shirts, hair, toys on her play mat, etc. and loves hearing her toys make noises when she hits them. Andi has some pretty strong legs and likes to push and somewhat scoot around while she is on her tummy. It’s so fun watching her learn all of these new little things!

Fun “Firsts” This Month: Well, this isn’t a fun first, but Andersyn became one constipated baby this month. We finally had to give her some Karo syrup this past week after not going #2 for a whole week! She was passing a lot of bad gas and crying every time she tried to toot, so we added about 3/4 of a TBSP to a 3oz bottle one night and she pooped quite a bit by the next morning. She didn’t seem to have any cramping or pain while she went, and I was so relieved! Andersyn had her first trip to Kansas City this month with me and Nora. She did great and it was so fun showing her off to close family and friends.

The biggest thing this month is that Andersyn has become a non-screaming baby. I think we have finally passed the “hard” stage of infancy and any signs of colic or reflux seem to be gone. We are all so thankful! It’s been so fun starting to see her personality come out, which if I remember right is very similar to her big sister’s at this age – alert and wanting to see the world! I just continue to be in love with our sweet girl and can’t wait to see what this next month holds for her. I love my little Andi Joy!
