Craft Time!

in Uncategorized on September 5, 2013

I’m linking up today with some wonderful blog friends on all things baby craft! Over the past year, we have done some fun things in our house to make some awesome gifts for friends and family members and little Nora has gotten in on all the fun! I’ll be sharing some of my favorite things and one that we are planning on doing in the near future!

1. Hand/Foot print Christmas Gifts

Nora wasn’t quite sure about the whole paint on the feet thing. But her gifts turned out great!

Of course, I forgot to take pictures of the finished project. MOMMY FAIL! But this is what it looked like when it was done. A little acrylic paint to Nora’s feet and a little drawing on my part and there you have it.

We also traced out Nora’s hands last Christmas for homemade Christmas wreaths and trees made out of felt. I then hot glue gunned some red, green and white buttons and red ribbon with her picture in the middle and we ended up with adorable Christmas ornaments. They turned out so cute and I can’t wait to see them up on our families trees year after year.

2. Eric’s Father’s Day gift

For Eric’s first Father’s Day, I wanted to have Nora make him something special. So I found this awesome baby goop recipe. Nora had an awesome time “creating her masterpiece” for Daddy. The only thing that I did differently from the original instructions was spray a generous coat of Elmer’s Spray Adhesive. It made the final product stay on the canvas much better. You can read about Eric’s first Father’s day here.

3. Hand made corn stalks

This fall, I am hoping to use this idea I found on Pinterest to have Nora make Indian corn. I would love to somehow attach the corn to a DIY corn stalk and put in on our front porch when we get our batch of pumpkins this year from Schaakes. I can’t wait to see how it turns out!

So there are our fun baby crafts! We have had so much fun doing them and I’m looking forward to what the other gals on this link up have to share. Happy crafting!

So creative!! I think we're going to have to do the Christmas wreaths for sure this year!
