Yay for getting lots of our fall fun activities checked off our list the past couple of weeks! Nora and I have had a blast getting out in the cooler temperatures and soaking up everything orange, crunchy leafie and pumpkinie. The past couple of weeks have also been full to the brim of getting our house ready to hit the market the first week of November. I find myself in tears with every box I pack, but I know that we are totally ready to make this move. Just today, both Nora and I had a good cry when we took down all of the pictures from the refrigerator and off of the dressers in our room. So many memories that I cherish carefully packed into boxes, only to be opened in a different state and a new farmhouse. Speaking of farmhouses…we met with the architect on Tuesday and decided to go ahead with a custom build for our new home. We meet with them again in about a month to go over all the plans and make the finishing touches…so exciting!
So here is what has been going on the past couple of weeks…
Nora and I took a Mommy-daughter date to the Louisburg Cider Mill for donuts and apple cider. We had a blast!
Nora ate an entire donut all by herself. That’s my girl!
Probably too much sugar, but she gulped that cold apple cider like a pro
Only my child would scream until I let her swing with her favorite pumpkin. She held onto that thing for about another hour after swinging. Glad to know I’m raising her right 😉
We have been needing to go in and trim my grandma’s trees, so we spent a Saturday doing some outside work. My studly arborist did a great job and Nora, “hewpt” (helped) by throwing acorns at Daddy while he worked
Uncle Jared let Nora play on his new mixer/sound board
Always fun when Uncle Jared comes over for dinner. That means lots of playtime before bed!
Macaroni and cheese – the lunch of the not-so-clean
This is what I get to retrieve my mail from everyday. Jealous? You shouldn’t be…
Sweet girl in pig tails
Tubby time fun
Although the picture is blurry, you can definitely make out huge smiles on both Nora and Grammy’s face. So priceless
I decided that Nora was finally old enough to start playing with some of my childhood toys. The first of many that I have gotten out is my old Disney World Castle set, complete with cars, Main Street trollies, trains and the entire Disney cast and tourists. I can not explain the joy that I get out of watching her play with this. I spent hours as a child on my grandparents floor, dreaming big dreams and going on magical adventures with this thing. I think she is going to love this for years to come.
It really has been a great couple of weeks around here. This weekend we have to finish up staining the deck and painting the new lattice around it, moving more furniture around for staging and getting the house as close to perfect as possible for pictures next Thursday. The worst part of all of this….ALL of my fall decorations have to come down. Those of you who know me or have checked out my fall home decor tour post, you know that this means that I have to remove almost all decorations from my house. More crying will ensue while I take down all of my precious pretties, I can tell you that. I just keep reminding myself that it will all be worth it when our house sells (hopefully fast). I’m sure that there is a sappy, emotional, “I don’t want to move and leave our house” post coming in the near future….Consider yourself warned!

Courtney….our neighbors go ALL OUT for Halloween. This year they went with a pirate theme. Sadly, I get to see one of them up close and personal when I retrieve my mail.
