Roll it On

in Uncategorized on June 24, 2015

Good morning friends! The sun is trying to peak up over the clouds here at the farm and there is already so much on my to-do list today! Some mornings it’s so easy to get out of bed, get the day started and not even think twice about sitting down for a few minutes and asking the Lord to go before my day and all the tasks I have at hand. Before I know it, it’s 10AM, the crazy of life is all jumbling together, babies are crying, laundry is coming out my ears, I’m starting to lose my temper, my attitude is in the pits and my first words to God are, “Please help me out, here!”

But oh, wouldn’t it have been a different morning if I would have come to you FIRST, Lord?

Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your work to the lord, and your plans will be established.” Did you know that this literally means to roll our plans onto Him? You see, the things that we do during our day, the big, the small and all the things in between…they matter. But friends, we can’t do them with out walking in God’s grace and allowing Him to be sufficient for us FIRST. Even more so, God desires and delights in taking our burdens from us. We simply have to be willing to loosen our grip and hand them over to Him.

So no matter what you are doing today…. Whether you are changing diapers, making phone calls, cleaning up spills, headed into work, carting your kids around, or simply trying to just make it through another day….roll it all onto your Maker. His shoulders are broad, His love is enough and His ways are perfect.

Here’s to starting our day together and committing the important work we have as mamas and wives to the Lord! Let’s serve our families well today.
