Spring Farmhouse Tour

in Family and Farm on April 2, 2018

Hey friends!  And welcome to Springtime at the Farmhouse. I’m so glad that you stopped by to take a peek at what we’ve got going on around here. While it’s been crazy winter weather here in Nebraska, things are looking bright and Springy inside the farmhouse.

I just love everything about Spring, don’t you? Somewhere in between the cold of winter giving way to Summer’s warmth lies Spring. It’s full of promises and hope, life and rebirth. I love everything that Spring holds. In my heart and in our home.

So grab yourself a cup of coffee and come on in.

It’s cold and dreary out these windows now, but before we know it the fields are going to be full of tractors and tanks, and soon after corn is going to be popping up in rows around the farmhouse. I absolutely love the fortress of corn stalks in the summertime.

The scent of the season around here is “KC Center Field” by Pickwick & Co. As a household of baseball fans, this is the perfect scent to usher in the Spring season. You can get yours at Zuzu’s Petals Boutique.

Because it wouldn’t be Spring without Bernice getting into the fresh spirit, too 🙂

I think tulips might be one of my very favorite parts of the Spring season. They are just so cheery, aren’t they?

I am still just loving this sweet little hutch that we got last Fall. We found it out at a local antique sale – it was sitting out in the rain, covered in leaves and lumber. I’m so glad that the mismatched glass caught my eye and that we took the time to pull in out of the mud. It’s been so fun trying out new ways to style it. And of course fill it up with my favorite pieces of China ware.

Normally there are toys strewn, sippy cups everywhere, and juice spilled on the floor. But for one afternoon it was all cleaned and pretty. Don’t be deceived… it doesn’t look like this often.

We finally got this wall done over the winter and I LOVE the way it turned out!

I am so glad that you decided to stop by and see what’s been happening at the farm this Spring. Not only are things looking bright and new inside the house, but the outside has been getting a facelift, too! Here is a sneak peak of a before picture. I can’t wait to show you the afters. We’ve been working so hard, EEEKK!!

Also, I’m over at the TODAY Parents page this week talking all about my wood floors and the house that built me. You can check that out here. Don’t forget to vote it up!

I really like your farmhouse decor! Those hardwood floors, the big farmhouse table, the old cabinets and…that old feed scoop! It’s fun to see how others decorate. Big houses can be really tricky! This winter we are redoing our upstairs hallway, which was last done over 50 years ago!! True story! It’s been all consuming, but oh, so much fun!
