CONGRATULATIONS! You are a good mom.
Yeah, I didn’t need you to take a test to tell you that. I already KNEW you are a good mom. Do you know how I knew that?
I knew because you questioned yourself enough to open this link to take a test to find out (good moms always wonder if they’re good moms). But the thing that really gave it away?
God chose YOU to be your kids’ mom.
He knew that you would love them better than anyone else would. He knew that you would make your own way in motherhood; making decisions that are best for you and YOUR family, giving everything that you can while raising Godly kids for His glory and relying on Him to lead you. He chose you for your kids.
He has given you this purpose, on purpose, for His purpose.
Listen mama, I know you’re insecure. I know you’re exhausted. I know you always wonder if you’re screwing your kids up. I know you beat yourself up at the end of everyday about something you did or didn’t do. I know you yelled today. I know that you question every single thing that you do.
But you are a good mom.
Because I also know that you want what’s best for your kids and you’re figuring that out as you go along, that’s just what good moms do. I know that just when you think you can’t make it another day you somehow find the strength to push through for your babies. I know that you’ve made mistakes, but I also know that you’re learning from them. I know that when your feet hit the floor in the morning that you are ready to give it your all, even on the days you wake up already feeling discouraged. I know you tell your kids you’re sorry when you’re wrong and stand firm with them when you know you’re right. I know that you make your decisions with love.
A fierce love that can come from no where else but the heart of a mother. And mama, you are fierce.
And you are a good mom.
The world is going to tell you that you need to be a certain way to be a good one. But I’m going to tell you that your way is the best way. You can have a natural birth, walk in asking for an epidural, climb up onto the table for a c-section, or your baby can grow in your heart after being paper pregnant. You can breast feed, formula feed, exclusively pump, or do a little bit of it all, because FED is best. You can go to work or stay at home. You can serve your family healthy homemade food every night or you can frequent the Taco Bell drive through. You can be at home with your kids all the time or you can leave for vacation once a year because you know that’s what YOU need to be the best mama possible. You can be a mom who plays on the floor all day or you can be a mom who lets them play more independently. You can be a Pinterest diva or you can totally bite at crafts. You can be ultra clean and organized or you can be messy and disheveled.
But with all the differences that these moms have, they all have one thing in common.
They are all good moms.
And chances are you fit into one or more of these categories, or maybe somewhere in between. That makes you a good mom.
Listen friend, you don’t need a test to tell you what kind of mom you are. You don’t need to fit a perfect mold to be who your kids need you to be. You just need to be who you are in Christ. Let me remind you one more time why you are a good mom: Because God chose you for this purpose. And God doesn’t make mistakes. You are exactly what your kids need.
You are a good mom.
