What’s a gal to do when cooped up at home with over a foot of snow? Why not create a blog, right? After all, the laundry is done, floors are swept, cookies are made, the babe is napping away and Eric is out working on the truck.
I have been contemplating starting a blog for quite some time. Not that anything that we do is terribly over-the-moon exciting, but rather to share our everyday experiences with interested friends and family and to document all of the little milestones and memories that come along with our 5 month old, Eleanor. I am hoping that our family who are in all corners of the country will join the bandwagon and start as well (hint, hint…this is my official request, Eberspacher sisters!).
As I was saying…we got over a foot of snow in about 12 hours yesterday, and lucky us, Eric got the email from work to stay home yesterday AND today! Woo! Hoo! I was certainly glad that I had gone to the store a few days ago, for groceries (and Coke), since we clearly aren’t going anywhere anytime soon – we are supposed to get MORE snow and ice Sunday night ( also Oscar night. Yeah!).
Day 1, we spent the day laying around doing a whole lot of nothing but drinking coffee and smelling the delicious aroma of the Pioneer Woman’s Spicy Pulled Pork . Um…can you say amazing?! It was terribly difficult to not take a bite every hour that I had to take it out and turn and baste it. Who am I kidding…the moment it was edible I was picking pieces off, left and right. I also whipped up some of my mother in laws delightful Ranger Cookies. Stuck ’em in the freezer and they became the perfect middle of the night snack, since Nora has been deciding to wake up at midnight every night for the past week or so. I sure miss my 12 hour straight a night sleeper. Thank you incoming teeth…
My lovely husband braved the cold and blowing winds and went out to shovel our driveway. Nora and I joined him for all of about 5 minutes. She did not particularly enjoy the cold.
We had a snow day…So I created a blog…
The joy on her face is obvious.
Had to grab a quick picture with Daddy.
Since she didn’t like being outside, we brought the snow into her. Slightly more impressed.
Day 2 of our snow days were a bit more productive. Lots of house cleaning, working on the truck and playing with the little one. Grammie and Grandpa even braved the snow and came over for a visit, while Grandma and Grandpa in Nebraska kept updating us on new calves being born on the farm. They always seem to be born in the middle of a snow storm.
Sometimes it takes being cooped up in the house in the middle of a winter storm to just take some time and relax and simply enjoy each others company. So thankful that we have a warm roof over our heads, good hot food in our tummies and lots of laughter that revolves, in particular, around a sweet little strawberry blonde child with rosy cheeks. Blessed we are, indeed.

I will be the first to comment on your new blog! Yay! I am impressed that you started one although I have to disappoint you and say that the chances of me starting one are slim to non. But I will certainly keep up on all that is going on with you guys and the many pictures I am sure you will post. Love you all.
