5 on Friday, Birthday Edition!

in Uncategorized on May 9, 2014

Hey there! After months of throwing up from the growing baby inside of me, I am FINALLY back for a 5 on Friday. This past week was my birthday, so I thought I would recap on some of the fun things we got to do this week to celebrate. I’m so excited to see what everyone else has to share today 🙂

1. The Henry Doorley Zoo in Omaha, NE

I absolutely love going to the zoo, and last Friday on my actual birthday, we loaded up and drove into Omaha for a day of animal watching. I wanted for us to be able to do something during the day together as a family and the zoo seemed like the perfect option. My favorite part was definitely the aquarium/penguins. Nora felt the same :)

2. Birthday Dinner

For weeks now, I have been craving some good sushi. The hubs and I got to have a Nora-less evening out in Lincoln and visited our new favorite sushi place, Hiro 88. It was absolutely fabulous and I thoroughly enjoyed a nice meal with out having to share my plate with a certain little someone 🙂

I also got to wear my new dress I bought last week. It was maybe a little dressy for the place we were at, but it felt so nice to get dressed up for the evening. My dress is from The Buckle (again, I never shop there! It’s a miracle I actually walked in the store) and I paired it with my white JLo strap flats, a jean jacket for our walk downtown and my new earrings from my sister, Erin.

My farmer hubby even put on a button up dress shirt for the night.

3. Fishing

We went on lots of little fishing trips to our pond as a family this week. The three of us pile onto the 4-wheeler and race down the gravel road for some good old country fun. Fishing is so relaxing to me and it’s something we can all go and do together.

4. Outdoor Water Fun

We had our first day about 90 degrees on Wednesday and I took the opportunity to get out the sprinkler and kiddie pool. Nora and I had an absolute blast getting all wet and muddy and I foresee a summer full of pool days on the farm ahead of us. Poor Eric was out in the field planting all day and missed all the fun. But I made sure to snap lots of pictures for him 🙂

Baby. Cheeks.

5. WE HAVE WALLS!

Not only is my husband planting his fields this spring, but he is building us a house. He and my FIL got our first walls up this past week and it truly is bringing our future home to life. My husband is a stud. I have no shame in bragging 🙂

Happy Friday everyone! And happy link-up!
