5 on Friday

in Uncategorized on June 7, 2013

Whew! Can I just say how thrilled I am that it’s finally Friday!?! It’s been one heck of a week around here, and the weekend could not have come at a more perfect time. I’m getting excited to relax and enjoy friends and family this weekend, aren’t you? OK, here is my 5 on Friday this week. I’m linking up with A. Liz Adventures again.

1. Nature:
Nora and I have been spending loads of time outside this week. Lots of flowers, grass, sticks and twigs to explore! This girl has been in awe of every new find that she has made. It’s so fun watching her discover everything the outdoors has to offer. Now it’s just a matter of making sure that she doesn’t eat what she finds 🙂

2. Laundry baskets
The newest form of entertainment in our house is our laundry basket. Who knew that pulling this gal around would bring joy beyond all belief? Peepers, her Jellycat Bunny, wanted to go along for the ride, too. Which brings me to my next item…

 3. Jellycat Bunny
Nora’s new little best friend is her Jellycat Bunny. It is probably the softest, cuddliest, cutest bunny I’ve seen and it’s the perfect size for her. They are simple little stuffed animals, but are so loveable! She takes it everywhere with her, even to bed. We have affectionately named him “Peepers.”

4. The Pioneer Woman’s Chocolate Sheet Cake
Holy party in your mouth…this cake is amazing! I was totally licking/slurping/devouring the batter out of the bowl when I was done making it. My dad has his big fundraising event tonight for Mission Southside – 100+ people have RSVP’d, so he said bring on the desserts! So that’s what I did this morning. I made a lot of cake – and subsequently gained 5 lbs of cake batter…I swear, I felt it go right to my thighs…but it was totally worth it!

5. This guy
I can’t believe it, but Wednesday will mark our 4 year anniversary! Eric is taking the day off and the three of us are just going to spend some time together. Lucky us, Grandma and Grandpa offered to watch Nora for the night, so Eric and I are heading to our favorite sushi place, Friends. I can’t even wait to celebrate. I am so blessed to be married to this amazing man.

Along with my Dad’s fundraiser tonight, we have a “Patio Party” we are going to tomorrow afternoon. One of Eric’s co-workers completed his patio earlier in May and they wanted to start summer party season off with a bang. Hopefully the weather stays nice enough for us to enjoy being outside with some good food and drinks. Happy weekend!!

That cake looks amazing. I'm going to have to make that!
