5 on Friday

in Uncategorized on June 20, 2014

Ooftah. It’s potty training week, so understand the emphasis of my first word of choice (I could have used a few other words, but ooftah seemed the most appropriate). But it’s Friday which means the weekend is almost here! Here are a few things this mama is loving today!

1. My new maxi

I got this little number at Zuzu’s a couple of weeks ago and I am so loving it! I paired it with a couple of Mariana pieces that my mom got me as a going away gift and it made the perfect outfit. Even withy growing belly!

2. Speaking of potty training….

I’m so glad we don’t live around anyone. Or else potty training breaks outside like this wouldn’t be possible.

3. Watching our corn pop up in rows

It has truly been a joy to watch the entire process of our corn and beans growing thus far. I swear in grows a couple of inches each night. It’s beautiful to see Eric’s hard work pay off. And there is noticing quite like sitting outside at night watching the fireflies hover over our fields. Sigh…

4. Mowing

I finally learned how to drive this bad boy this week. I have been super nervous to get on such a big mower and cut our (huge) lawn, but it really is fun and not as hard as it looks. And the zero turn is phenomenal!
5. An outhouse and a glider

This past week Eric and I moved out an old outhouse and wooden glider to our pond. I’m sure that we looked like the Beverly Hillbillies driving down the road with a portable loo on the front of our loader. No, we aren’t planning on using the outhouse for toileting purposes, rather for a fishing pole, tackle and life vest hut. We placed them under the oak tree on the North East side of the pond and it looks adorable πŸ™‚
So happy Friday friends! Praying your weekend is full of JOY and relaxation.

5 on Friday

in Uncategorized on May 16, 2014

This Friday comes with great relief. This might have been the busiest week we have had since moving to the farm yet. Not that Friday really means anything during planting season, but it’s still nice to think that Eric’s day off, Sunday is coming up. Not that Nora and I will be here this weekend, we leave for Kansas City tomorrow afternoon so I can do my orientation at the hospital Monday. Still, I’m celebrating the end of the week with a smile on my face and a bag of SweeTarts propped on my growing belly. Let’s begin!

1. Big Girl Bedding!

With our new little baby coming in September, we are starting with the first of many transitions with a big girl bed. This morning, we drove into Lincoln and found the most adorable bedding for our big, growing girl! You can check it out here. I am in love with the pattern and colors and think Nora will like it as well. Eric is going to get her mattress out while we are gone this weekend and will start the transition when we get home next week. I’ll let you know how that goes…

2. Summer Rompers!

And while we are on the subject of Target, I am over the moon with these adorable rompers that came just in time for warm summer weather! Can’t wait to see Nora running around the yard in some of these πŸ™‚

3. Strength, Grace and Protection

We had some pretty bad tornadoes come through on Mother’s Day afternoon. Luckily, our house and buildings were spared. One of our pivots (may it rest in peace) was not so lucky. But we felt God’s grace and protection as the twisters went on either side of our tiny town. Sadly, we have many friends who lost most everything. I am so grateful this week for God’s strength as everyone is binding together to clean up and rebuild.

A few untouched eggs that Kati brought in from the chicken coup just minutes before the twisters took their beautiful farm.ο»Ώ

4. Mother’s Day

Although most of Mother’s Day was spent in the basement, we had a really nice day with Eric’s extended family in Omaha, celebrating Mother’s and Rajeev’s graduation from medical school. It was a lovely day and I was reminded, once again, what a joy it is to be a Mommy.

5. A New Baby….

GIRL!

Baby Girl Eberspacher #2 is due September 27th and we couldn’t be more thrilled that she was squirmy and healthy during our anatomy scan on Wednesday. What a joy it is to be carrying this new little one!

There’s my 5 this week. Feeling extremely thankful at the end of this long week, and looking forward to a weekend back in KC to visit family and take care of work business. Happy weekend, friends!

Dropping by from the link up! First and foremost praise the Lord you were safe during your bad weather. Now the fun stuff….that new bedding is beautiful! The rompers are adorable, my six year old wouldn't wear one she's hit a dress or shorts phase. Congrats on your new bundle of pink on the way. Have a nice weekend!

5 on Friday

in Uncategorized on November 8, 2013

Good morning Friday! I am so glad you are here! It’s been a very full week around here. Nora had an ear infection and both she and I are in the middle of colds. BOO! Not to mention our house officially went up for sale on Monday. We got tons of phone calls and have some folks who are interested, so we will see if anything happens this weekend. Fingers and toes crossed, people! Here are some things that are on my mind this week.

1. Everything Christmas

Oh, friends. I’m so glad that the most wonderful time of the year is here! I love seeing Christmas themed commercials, buying wrapping paper and bows, decorating for the holiday season. Sigh. It’s all just so wonderful!

2. “Give me a big smile!”

Nora has learned, perhaps, the most important lesson in her little life thus far. When I tell her to give me a big smile, she gives me the biggest, CHEESIEST grin ever. Sometimes she even sticks her tongue out. It’s absolutely adorable, and I’m secretly so glad that she decided to learn this BEFORE we take our Christmas pictures this year. Oh, happy day!

3. This shirt

I got this top from Old Navy a couple of weeks ago and I LOVE it! It’s not flimsy and lightweight like other’s I’ve gotten there in the past and it’s UBER comfy. I’m thinking about heading back there this weekend to get a couple of more. They even have some with polka dots. I mean, everything is better with polka dots, right?

4. A Thankful Heart

With everything going on this week, I have had some pretty emotional moments. I had my last OB check up with Dr. Snider before we move and wouldn’t you know it, I sobbed like a baby when he hugged me goodbye. I HATE goodbyes. HATE. HATE. HATE. We have started the process of having our “lasts” of everything and it’s not very fun. Having said that, how BLESSED am I to be so sad to leave so many wonderful people?!? I can honestly say that I don’t think that many people have the kind of love of family and friends in their lives as we do, and it makes me so thankful for everything and everyone we have here in Kansas City. Makes me even more blessed that I don’t have to leave my two favorite people behind πŸ™‚

5. The CMA’s

OK, who LOVED the CMA’s this year? I DID! Nora even got in on the action and watched/danced in her high chair while she enjoyed some animal crackers.

There is nothing quite like seeing my favorite peeps up on stage giving phenomenal performances and looking fabulous. Makes me so glad that I married a farmer. You know, farmers always look good in tight jeans and live where the green grass grows and drive trucks down dirt roads and have bonfires in the fields and are all hot and sweaty (and gorgeous) while they drive their tractors in their white t’s and ball caps. Please, don’t be jealous of me. Not everyone can have that kind of perfect in their husband πŸ™‚

5 on Friday

in Uncategorized on August 2, 2013

There is nothing better than waking up on a Friday to dark clouds, heavy rain and thunder and lightning. Oh wait, how about adding cuddling with your little baby in bed?? Yep, that is pretty much the cherry on top. If only we could stay in bed and cuddle all day long. Sigh…but me and this little gal have stuff to do today! And so we will begin!

1. A wedding shower

This afternoon, we head to Nebraska for a very FULL weekend! We have a wedding for a high school friend of Eric’s tomorrow afternoon, but first, tomorrow morning, my sister Ellie and I are throwing a wedding shower brunch for our cousin, Asha. The past couple of weeks has been full of planning and crafting, and I’m so excited to see it all come together for such a beautiful person. Love you, Asha!

2. New Yoga Jeans

My mom dropped by one night and surprised me with these, except in a deeper pink shade. Oh. My. Word. I hardly even feel like I’m wearing pants. They are so comfy, and I love the extended length on them – they work perfect with heels, or you can roll them under for flats. Thanks, Mama!

3. Big girl jammies

The purchasing of Nora’s birthday presents is well underway, but I just had to share these because I ended up crying at the register when I bought them. I bought her her first pair of big girl jammies. Two piece and no footies…It’s really happening…she is getting bigger. And I can’t stop it!

4. August 1st

It’s official friends, fall is HERE!!! After we get home from our trip to Nebraska this weekend, I have 6 days to get our house full fledged in fall festive frivolity (say that 5 times fast!) before we leave for Canada next week. This is my favorite time of the year and I am so looking forward to going through it with my family. The weird thing is, this fall will be filled with Nora’s “second” of everything. Second time at the pumpkin patch, second time at the Cider Mill, second time of going to Starbuck’s for the seasons first PSL. But most importantly, IT’S ALMOST FOOTBALL SEASON!!!!! It’s going to be great!

GO! BIG! RED!

5. Road Trip!

There is almost nothing that I LOVE more than road tripping with Eric. We always pack the same snacks and drinks, take the same route home and solve the problems of the world while we drive. Some folks dread driving to their destination, but we love it. Can’t wait to get in our van and crank up the country music and listen to our little gal babble in the back seat.

So, that’s that! I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend! Nora and I are off to pack for a glorious weekend back on the farm. Yup, be jealous :)ο»Ώ

5 on Friday

in Uncategorized on July 5, 2013

It’s always odd when a holiday lands in the middle of the week. But either way, it’s a holiday and reason to celebrate with family, food and lots of laughs. This Five on Friday is here again. Sadly, I’ve kind of slacked on my blogging this week. Lots of fun stuff going on, which means lots to catch up on! Let’s get started!

1. Professional Pictures: I LOVE having professional pictures taken. It’s one thing that I never feel guilty about having done to capture moments in our family’s milestones. Unfortunately, this week’s pictures looked a little something like this:

“Smile, Nora…. Please just ONE little smile!”

*click* *click* *click*

frown, curl of upper lip, blank stare…

*click* *click* *click*

The one day we have professional pictures taken, my ever smiling child won’t even show a hint of happiness. OK, her favorite animal noises, that will certainly get her to smile.

“Nora, what noise does the lion make? RAWR!!!”

{insert ShRiEk of anger here}

Welp, that was that. Thirty minutes of trying to get her to smile, or even remotely act like her happy self, down the drain. Not only did she look adorable in her new strawberry onsie tank, pink Toms and hot pink bow perched atop her pretty little head, but MY hair and make-up was even done. Everything was set up perfect – blue skies, comfy blanket on the grass, even a handful of Cheerios. The one and only instruction I gave her was to smile. But her stubborn self wouldn’t allow it. She wanted to do what she wanted to do. To top it off, I felt like I wasted a perfectly good amount of Big Sexy Hair Mousse on my hair for nothing that day. Which brings me (finally) to my second fav thing on this Friday afternoon….

2. Big Sexy Hair: Root Pump Plus

If your needing some volume to your hair, long or short, this stuff TOTALLY does the trick! A few sprays here, a few there and whala! Volume to the max! I love this product (I have for years, now) and truly think it’s the best out there. It’s money well spent in my book!

3. Life lessons through picture meltdowns

In Nora’s defense, I don’t think she felt totally like herself yesterday. She had been pretty whiney for a few days already, and this day just topped it all off.  Lucky for us, our photographer was super kind and patient with her – I just love that Angie Plank (if you need a photographer USE HER!). Our meltdowns this week have looked a little something like this:

What happens when Mommy’s homemade fudgescicles run out πŸ™ Sad. Sad. Sad….ο»Ώ

As I was getting annihilated by Jillian Michaels later that afternoon, I was thinking back on our little “moment” during our pictures that morning. Nora’s “I wanna do what I wanna do” actions sadly reminded me of my own daily shortcomings. How many times has God deliberately called me to do something, and I give him a firm curl of my upper lip because it’s not what I want. Ouch. Lately, I’ve felt some pretty distinct tugs at my heart to truly lay my burdens on Him, but have been reluctant, feeling like I can still take on the problems of the world by myself. That whole “God uses your kids to teach you lessons” thing hit home in a big way. And yesterday, God served me a big ‘ole piece of humble pie through my little girl. Thanks Nora πŸ™‚

4. My new top from Zuzu’s

New apparel came in this week at Zuzu’s and it was my turn to model the new goods for our Facebook page. However, one of the tops I just couldn’t say no to for my own closet. I wore it out today to my doctor’s appointments and got compliments on it everywhere I went. It’s adorable, right?

5. Family time

Getting together with family usually is at the top of my favorites list, but when you add fireworks and seafood into the mix, it takes the cake! We had a wonderful time with my side of the family for the 4th of July and it honestly couldn’t have been a more beautiful night out to celebrate our country’s freedom.

Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July! I know we did, but I will blog about our Surf and Turf feast another day πŸ™‚ Happy weekend, friends!

5 on Friday

in Uncategorized on June 28, 2013

Hello Friday and hello cold front in KC! And by cold front, I mean 85 degree weather and only the feeling of semi-drowning in humidity. Nevertheless, the weekend is here. And Eric and I are SUPER excited to be trying out our new smoker tomorrow. Nothing screams weekend like smoked meat, cold drinks and a fat baby in a kiddie pool. Amen? Yes. Very well. Let’s continue….
I am doing another link-up with some adorable gals that I love following in blog land. I’m so glad that they have decided to continue this link-up through the summer months.

1. I have FINALLY decided on a theme for Nora’s first birthday. Vintage Cinderella. Lots of creams, powder pinks and minty greens. Trying to figure out how I can combine a tiara and a party hat, at the moment (prayers and Pinterest vibes appreciated). It will be so fun to celebrate a whole year of life of our little darlin’. I. Can’t. Wait.
2. Baby back-leg fat. Just scrumptious. If a picture was worth a thousand chubby words….

3. First New House Project
Knowing that we will be moving within the next year to the farm, I have had to restrain myself in buying new decor for our current house. I decided, instead, to start on my first project for our new home that we will have in Nebraska. Something that I have always LOVED are antique pictures of flowers. My goal is to have a collage of all different kinds of framed floral pictures for a wall in our front room. I have found two gems to start my collection off and I can’t wait to see what other pieces I find in the coming months!

4. Nap time
We are FINALLY back to normal naps. And guess what…they are LONGER now! Bye-Bye 2 thirty minute naps a day. We are now getting in one nap in the morning that’s an hour and a half and one in the afternoon that is thirty minutes. Sometimes she will even lay down next to me and cuddle. Is this real life???

5. My Pump
After 9 months of exclusively pumping, this past week it was time to hang up my “horns.” I am proud to say that I pumped as long as I did, but due to some health issues and A LOT of traveling coming up, I made the decision to wean myself off. It was kind of bittersweet; so glad to be done, but so sad to end what I have worked so hard for since Nora’s birth. And let me tell you, that pump was worth every penny we spent on it – not a single hitch this whole time. The only sad part is….now I’m back to my flat chested self. It was good while it lasted, but now it’s time for new bra shopping. Any recommendations are welcome πŸ™‚
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

5 on Friday!

in Uncategorized on June 1, 2013

Ok, so I’m trying this whole “Linking up” thing. I’ve never done it before, but it’s super fun to see what else everyone out in blog world is loving on this particular Friday morning! I can’t wait to see how it works!
1. Hymns on a window
I am one of those seasonal decorators…right down to what’s hanging on my walls. And I must say that I have DESPERATELY missed this antique piece! Old hymns modge-podged onto distressed wood and hung onto a window with some ribbon. Bam.

2. Lattice birdie boxes
Um, can you say ADORABLE?!? There is nothing that brings me more joy than sweet little birdies or a good print. Why not have them both together. Amen and amen, to that. You can purchase these at Zuzu’s Petals Boutique. Go ahead and look at the rest of the website, too. Look, shop and be happy.

3. Cleaning up after this sweet thing
It’s been a rough few days in our house with teething and lack of napping. I know that she is finally feeling better because she is making a mess again. I’ve never been so thankful to be cleaning up toys πŸ™‚

4. My Lululemon pants
I really don’t think that much explanation is needed here. My thighs and bum have never been happier to wear a pair of pants. They are glorious in every sense of the word. You can buy them here. Trust me, you won’t be sorry you did.
5. Coffee from The Roasterie
“When Nora is teething, the coffee will be brewing” has been my motto this week. Specifically this blend will blow your mind. It’s dark and smooth, but not burnt tasting. It has saved my sanity all week.
So there you have it! These are the things I am loving this week. Hope you can enjoy some of them as well πŸ™‚
You can link up with A. Liz Adventures here. Hopefully I did all this right and it works…otherwise, I will spend my Friday evening feeling like a great big dope trying to expand my blogging horizons, haha!
